Sauternes

Chateau Liot. Another great find from Bordeaux! Well,it's been very famous but I have just discovered it!
Sauternes is made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that have been affected by Botrytis cinerea, also known as noble rot. This causes the grapes to become partially raisined, resulting in concentrated and distinctively flavored wines.(wikipedia)
Wonderfully golden yellow honey color. Very nice sweetness and zest balance. Some marmalade character. Very smooth and creamy.
It can age very well for a very long time.
I think it would pair very good with something light and fragrant. It is said that the best pair is foie gras!
