I'm in love!

I'm truly, deeply, in love!:0)
The more I taste Italian wine, the more I'm  falling in love with them!
My latest find is Ruche!

Ruche is Italian grape variety from Piedmont region.
Yes, Piedmont, where very famous Barolo and Barbabaresco coming from. They are made from Nebbiolo grape. Also Barbera and Dolcetto are popular varieties there. They all are red wines.
Ruche is not that known. It's very old grape, with a little bit of mystery.
This is a graceful wine, elegant and floral with  lively acidity  and  soft, round tannins. The color is ruby red with dark orange reflections.
Amazing wine! You can pair it with meats, cheese. It's so nice and light and at the same time has complexity of berries and fruit aromas.

Terredora Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio Rosso 2008, Doc

Another great discovery! Gotta love Italian wines!
Smoky, dried herbs on the palate, leather.
Very flavorful.
Good balance of tannins and acidity.
Fruity on the nose.
I would pair this wine with meaty stew in tomato sauce.

What to expect from my tastings.

Another tasting event vent great!I discovered new love, love for wine. And I want to share this love with everybody! Also I have passion for food and I love planning parties and events.
Wine, food and good friends, it's the best combination!
People invite  friends and invite me. I'm the hostess. Everyone sit back, relax, sip wine, enjoy the company!
I bring plates, glasses, menus, wine and food. I'll just need your cutlery. There are 4 different wines. Usually 2 whites, 2 reds. You can choose the theme for your get together.
And also I bring food for pairing. Appetizers, seafood platter, meat platter and dessert.
For the dessert there is usually another sweeter wine or sparkling wine or fortified wine.
First we sip all of the wine. Look and the color, smell it, taste it. Then we taste wine with each kind of food and find for ourselves the difference of taste. How aromas of food changes flavours of wine.
After we are done with wines and food we move to dessert.
People always have great time and a lot of fun discovering new flavours in their palate.
I bring catering and entertainment!

Sauternes

Chateau Liot. Another great find from Bordeaux! Well,it's been very famous but I have just discovered it!
Sauternes is made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that have been affected by Botrytis cinerea, also known as noble rot. This causes the grapes to become partially raisined, resulting in concentrated and distinctively flavored wines.(wikipedia)
Wonderfully golden yellow honey color. Very nice sweetness and zest balance. Some marmalade character. Very smooth and creamy.
It can age very well for a very long time.
I think it would pair very good with something light and fragrant. It is said that the best pair is foie gras!

Temranillo

It's time I thought! I was into French wines long enough! And I wanted more. But I had to move. There was so much ahead!
I was just tweeting last night and there was #winechat about Tempranillo. It was too late for me to open a bottle, but I did it today with beautiful BBQ. Lamb,Halibut, Salmon. Couple of salads, potato with chorizo.Very summery meal, don't you think?
And I opened my Temranillo. So glad I did!An oaky wine with  leathery, rustic, spicy aromas and vanilla influence. On the palate wine is balanced, ripe fruit compliments this wine. Nice and rich finish.
This wine paired perfectly with our BBQ feast!
Tempranillo is one of the ancient grapes. It's from Spain, grows  in Rioja in North Central Spain and Ribera del Duero. Now it's also becoming popular in the new world.
